Mangenese is an important mettalic element that has many uses in pigments, fertilizer, bricks, glass, textiles, plastic and many others.
The most stable oxidation state for manganese is +2, which has a pale pink color, and many manganese (II) compounds are known, such as manganese (II) sulfate (MnSO4) and manganese (II) chloride (MnCl2). This oxidation state is also seen in the mineral rhodochrosite (manganese (II) carbonate produced by manganese refining plants.
PT Bone Jaya Timor is privately owned Manganese Ore Mining Company. It has operation and production license of mining (IUP OP, Ijin Usaha Pertambangan dan Produksi) issued by Regent of North Central Timor (Bupati Timor Tengah Utara) issued in April 7, 2014 and valid until 2034, and registered at ePNBP Mineral (electronic online website of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Republic of Indonesia), license number 16, 2014
The Gulf Mangan Grup (Indonesian entity) is expected to be a long-term off-taker of manganese ore supplied by PT Bone Jaya Timor, as the manganese quality is acceptable and is located nearby in Kupang.
Indonesia has large resource and reserve Manganese, whereas 60% resource and 70% reserve are located at Nusa Tenggara Timur, with total of 36 million tons Manganese Ore and 17 million tons of Manganese metal with high grade quality (more than 40% manganese contents). The total resource and reserve are estimated 79 millions tons and 39 tons respectfully.
The license grants mining area of 365,4 hectares in Bisafe Village, Sub-district Musi, District (Regent) of North Central Timor, Province of South East Nusa (Nusa Tenggara Timur, NTT)
